It seems everywhere you look these days, there’s a wealth of information. But what if you are too shy to ask the doctor or anyone else about your condition? What if you just need a screening test of some type?

Then look no further than the web! Fire up your choice of browser and away you go. http:/

is a lesser known website with less specialized information in everyday language.

In the case of a possible mental health issue, there are several places to turn to help. One all encompassing site for women is:
www.ivillage.com/health or www.ivillage.com/wellness. There are screening tools and daily email subscriptions available.

For general health and symptom checkers, there is www.webmd.com. There are also a number of features on this site that you won’t find with the others. There is also Yahoo,

You can also perform a “Google” search by typing in the illness in the search box and clicking on the links. Be advised that not all of the links will contain reliable or up to date information, so stick with more reliable sources like government websites or clinic/college websites. There are also medical journals on line if you are up for a lot of “light” reading.
