Please Don’t Stop the Music
If you are anything like me, one of the big uses of your home computer is storing all your music. I currently have 892 songs in iTunes and that is likely to only grow.

Ever since I started working with computers, I have resisted Windows Media Player. I’m not quite sure why – there are plenty of good things about it – but WMP always seemed too much trouble to deal with when I wanted to organize and listen to my music. I tried plenty of players, but they mostly didn’t last long.
That is, until I discovered iTunes.
Offered as a free download on the Apple site, iTunes has become one of the most popular alternative players out there.
The bad thing about installing iTunes is that it changes the format of your songs. Yes, you can listen to your music just fine – no need to worry about that – but it means iTunes isn’t compatible with regular mp3 files.
In no-mumbo-jumbo terms, this means that songs you have put in iTunes might no longer play in Windows Media Player (the media player that comes on your computer if you have a PC and not a Mac) and might not translate over to your mp3 player.
Despite this, my vote still goes to iTunes. The colours are pleasant, it’s easy to avoid ads, you can easily download free podcasts and videos, and it’s all very organized. Ever since I switched to iTunes, I haven’t looked back at any other players.
PS. Looking for something a little different in music but not sure what you want? Check out Pandora.com and start working on a playlist. Unfortunately, it’s only available in the US, but give it a go if you can!
