Introduction to Forums – Saying Hello
You have the computer, you have the internet, and now you want to start talking to people. Right? You have heard all about how the internet connects people from across the world, so why not get connecting?
Internet forums are a great way to talk to people, make friends, learn new things and have your say as well. And the beauty of forums is you can find several different forums for any subject – everything from creative writing to travel to music and just having a casual chat. Even more niche subjects like House (the television show) have spaces on the internet.

Where do you get started?
The first step is the easiest – what do you want to talk about? A specific subject? Do you want to talk to people from your country? People from your age group? Or people who share your hobby(ies)? Once you have that figured out, the fun begins.
Searching for forums.
On any given subject, you’re bound to find plenty of forums. Before signing up for any forum, you’re going to want to check it out. Get a feel for things. A few important things you’ll want to check out are 1.) how many members are involved? (You’ll have to decide whether or not you want to be part of a small, medium, or large forum.) 2.) How much are people posting.
You can check out how much people are posting easily. Usually all it involves is looking at the page and looking at the dates of the last post. You can usually find that information on the right hand side along with who made the post. You’ll want to go with a forum where the majority of sections have been posted in recently, preferably the current day.
Once you have looked at a few (or several forums) and have found one you like, it’s only a matter of signing up (with a valid email address!) and introducing yourself. If you have any questions, there is almost always a FAQ (frequently asked questions) section you can look at. If you still have questions, ask anyone or send a message to a member of the forum staff.
That’s what they are there for.
Enjoy!
