Home Computers!
Good morning!
To get started, I thought it would be a good idea to tell you about my home computers. I have a Dell Dimension C521 with a Athlon 64 X2 4400+ 2.3 GHz processor, 2GB RAM, 250GB HD, 19 inch flat screen monitor, and Vista Home Premium.
I’m typing this on my laptop, an HP Pavilion dv9429us with 2gb RAM, 200gb HD, 2.2GHz AMD Turion 64 X2 TL-64 processor, Lightscribe enabled DVD SuperMulti drive, NVIDA GeForce Go 6150 graphics card, TV Tuner, built in wireless, built in webcam, and a 5-1 card reader. It’s also running Vista Home Premium. I also have a wireless home network thanks to my Linksys router.
I have had a home computer since 1979. I was 9 years old, and that Apple IIe was the most amazing thing I’d ever seen! Home computing has come a long way since then, and I’m here to share it all with you!

Dell is not a very reliable computer. Motherboards are known to collapse on a moment’s notice. Just to let your readers know. Athlon can be good but Intel is still best. I have HP with Pentium M, Mobile for laptop. Works well.

Actually I have to disagree. Dell laptops are terrible, yes, but I’ve had fantastic experiences with their desktops. The one I just replaced was 8 years old and still runs just fine. My parents have a 10 year old system that works wonderfully to this day, and my inlaws have a 6 year old one. So I have to say Dell Desktops are very reliable. Dell laptops on the other hand are just awful. I had one and it lasted all of 18 months before the motherboard died.

I liked the Dell music jukebox, but that’s about it for Dell. All the nice things I can say about it. Mine crashed, unfortunately.

I like my Dell laptop, it was cheap. Gotta watch out what they talk you into, though.

Hello everyone,
No, this is blog is not sponsored by any computer companies. I mentioned Dell because that’s the brand of desktop I have and my family has. I have also had an Apple IIe, a Packard Bell(now known as HP), Compaq,an EMachines,2 IBMs(an ancient desktop and a Thinkpad laptop),and a Gateway. Everyone has their favorite brand and that’s fine. We all have different experiences and in my opinion there is no perfect computer.

Hi Barry,
I’ve never personally owned a Mac although I did use them throughout college. They are great systems but very pricey compared to Windows machines.

which do you like better, mac or pc?

Hi Jade,
I think both PC’s and Macs have their good points and bad points. Most of my experience is with PC’s though, so that is where my preference lies.
