Here’s your first idea of how to make life easier with your home computer…

www.attreferrals.com/Default.aspx

Click the site above and type in kh9747001

underneath the middle column on the page…
did someone refer you? put your billing phone # under that. You do NOT have to be an “AT & T or Bellsouth” customer to get this. It will tell you what is available. If you are already a customer, no worries.

You can then go to their web page and sign up for “paperless” billing. This is a wonderful thing that will make your life MUCH easier. You CAN still print out all the bills that you want to and view itemized charges. No more worrying about paper shuffle, late payments and the post office eating your mail. You can also pay with a credit card and store that info in the account or simply pay with your checking account like I have.

ANOTHER feature of this phone company site I am taking you to is that You can get DSL for about $14.99/month Again, you don’t have to be a current customer, and all you do is:
Type in your phone number to check what services are available to you and again, the referral code: kh9747001
You KEEP your current phone number, and surf & talk on the phone at the same time!! No more busy signals or paying the exhorbinant rates the cable company charges!

I have only had one interruption in about three years of having the service. You are wise to lock in your rate for a year, as I have. I did not have any increases so far. I have enjoyed their customer service, which is more than I can say for a lot of these phone companies out there! I have had MCI and sprint and a number of others, but AT&T/Bell South ranks among the top. Any problems were quickly resolved.

If you need help walking through their site or setting up DSL, please comment/email me and I’ll be happy to walk you through it. My business does provide services Nationwide.

Good luck and I hope this was of help! Let your friends know I’m here as well!

I’m back!

Practical use for your cell phone as it relates to a PC…

Went on a vacation to Tennessee. Got a chance to use my new cell phone and get email on there.

I have www.verizonwireless.com. I took a month free trial of Vcast so I would have a small version of Internet with me at all times. Now granted it isn’t going to be able to load a page with too wide of bandwidth, but for email, you just push the corresponding menu # button and away you go.

Then, you select what type of web-based email you have. For example, Yahoo, AOL or Hotmail. There are others, but those are the main three. Since I have Yahoo & Hotmail accounts, it was not a problem. The first time you type in your username and password it is cumbersome.

I did not reply to many of them on my phone, as it takes too long to type in all the characters. Pay attention to the lower corners, they tell you whether or not you’re in ABC, 123 or symbol mode. If you do the @ sign, then you are in symbol mode.

I also sent photos from my phone to my computer and emailed others photos as they happened. It’s a great way to keep in touch, but be warned, if you are going to do this, it will cost $5/month for a package of photo email or .25 each. So, if you are a texter and a photo emailer, then I would suggest the package.

The packages are great for tweens and 20s. I am still looking for a device (I think bluetooth will do it) to transfer photos from this new bluetooth phone (LG8300) to my computers in the office and at home. I eventually want to drop the photo package as I won’t be using it for awhile.

You can always pick it up at some other point again.

Good luck! Keep your comments coming and visit often. Let me know if there’s a topic you’d like covered.
